Adding a personalised watermark to your cards

Hi crafters

I should think many of you have seen cards with a personalised watermark and I know, up until a little while ago, I wondered how it was done.  Well, I was told about this site which creates a personalised watermark, it looks very professional and all for only a few pound so I thought it might be helpful for others that want to add that profesional touch to their images.

Whimsy Stamps have several templates to choose from, you can add your own blog address, your name or anything else that you feel that personalises your work and you get to choose the font for the text.  They say it takes a couple of days to create and get back to you, but from my experience, I received mine back within a couple of hours.  Is that good service or what?

Once your watermark is complete they send it via email as well as including a link to a tutorial for adding the watermark to your images.  Within this tutorial you get the chance to use one of three different pieces of software (, GIMP or Photoscape) and they can all be downloaded free of charge.  Along with each piece of software there is a video to follow which explains how it's done.  I chose as this took up the least memory.  I've attached an example of mine in the image below.

I hope someone finds this useful, I know every bit of information I could find whilst creating my own blog was really, really helpful.

Let me know what you think.

Handbag card

Hello again crafters.

Well a week has passed and I have managed to add a couple of links to my blog and I have inherited 5 followers so things can't be going too badly.

I have had 5 commission cards to complete this week, 3 of which can all be found in my gallery (because I forgot to photo the other 2!!!!!), but I wanted to spotlight on one of them.

This is the second time I have done a handbag card and I think that I have improved on the original - let me know what you think.

I used pearlescent card from the Papermill Shop to make the main body of the handbag, scraps of silver card to make the corners, polka dot ribbon (from docrafts I think), crystal flowers and buckle bought from Ebay and outline peel offs from Wilkinsons.  The cord for the handle was from my local market haberdashery stall.

To finish the inside of the card I covered the 3 seperate sections with white card (again from the Papermill shop) and distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tattered Rose.  To finish off the edges I have used a dashed line.  For the bottom section I added a cut out paper ribbon and decoupaged finishing off with a crystal gem in the centre.

For the centre section I made a little pocket, which I finished off the same as the main inserts, I made a little card to slot into the pocket with Happy Birthday written on it and stuck a foam letter 'M' on the pocket.

On the back of the Happy Birthday card insert I stuck some mirror card.  On the top section I have stuck a velcro circle underneath where the buckle is to keep the card together.

I hope this has given you some inspiration.

My first post

Welcome to my blog - thanks for taking the time to come and see what's happening on here!

As you can see this is my first post so not much to look at yet, I'm like a baby learning to crawl or a toddler learning to walk!  I keep falling over, but I will learn how to do it and improve all the time - I hope!

I'm going to see if I can add a few of the Christmas cards I made for 2010 so fingers crossed :-)
