Daisy Jodie

I'm back all nice and refreshed after my hols in sunny Cyprus although the temperatures in the UK was a bit of a shock to the system after having 36 degrees for the last 10 days!  Needless to say the central heating went straight on and the PJ's came out at the same time that the bikini and shorts went away.

Anyway back to business and my card today is a reminder for the challenge that is currently running over at A Gem of a Challenge where the theme is "Lemon, Lilac, 2 Butterflies and a Bow" and I've chosen a lovely digi image from Pink Gem Designs.

Cupcake

Another week at work finished and now it's time to craft!

We've got a new challenge for you over at Fussy and Fancy today with a theme of "Fabric of our Lives".  I've used a piece of fabric that has a cupcake appliqued onto it with oddments of various other materials and then added my own embossed frame.

I sent this card to my crafting buddy Anne recently for her birthday as she makes the most gorgeous cakes and brings them around for our craft days - yum, yum!!

Materials used:
Embossing folder - spots and dots
Pearls coloured with promarkers
Tag & sentiment - tickets

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Jada

Well there's several firsts in this card for me.  I've tried a new technique with the flower frame, which I picked up from my crafting buddy Wendy (aka Papersniffer), colouring black hair and dark skin and it's my first card for the Gems of Inspiration blog too.

It's always good to try and work outside of your comfort zone because if you don't you'll never know if you're any good at it or not, so the Pink Gem design team are all contributing to an inspirational blog spotlighting the designs from Pink Gem Designs with some ideas to get you started.  Why not pop over and have a look and see what ideas you can pick up from my teamies.

Skin: Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna & Umber
Cheeks & lips:  Coral
Hair:  Cool Grey 1 to 5

If you want to have a go at the flower frame please pop along to Wendy's blog where you will find her fab tutorial.  I'm sure she'd love to hear your feedback too!  It's easy to make and looks so effective doesn't it?  Thanks for the inspiration Wendy.
