Busy weekend and some news!!

WOW what a busy weekend I had!

Firstly I attended a 2 day Clarity Stamp workshop on Friday and Saturday in Cowden which was absolutely fantastic :-)  We completed four projects each day, some more complex than others but all so different too.  The workshops were hosted by the highly talented Barbara Gray herself assisted by Paul Church.

I met some wonderful new friends over the weekend, picking up and swapping crafting tips and techniques along the way as well as having a good laugh.

I'll be able to show you my projects once they are completed and made into cards.

Secondly, whilst away I received an email from Janet at A Gem of a Challenge asking me if I wanted to join their design team!  Well how much better could this weekend become?  Of course I said yes straight away :-)

Sorry I've not got a card for you today, but just thought I'd share my news with you!

Teddy Bea - Daisy Chain

I couldn't believe it when I saved the photos of this card, I thought I'd made a mistake as this image has the same name as the one I made a couple of days ago - what a coincidence!!

This card has been made with the sketch from the Teddy Bo challenge, where they also have a DT call too.  I did wonder whether to put my name forward for this but decided that it would take too much commitment so good luck to all the other applicants :-)

Lovely Teddy Bea has bought the sun with her as the weather is gorgeous outside today and looks as though it is going to last all week.  does this mean that summer is finally here or is it only a fleeting glance?

Materials used:
Coloured with promarkers
Sentiment - Jane's script
Distress ink - tattered rose & dried marigold
Backing papers - First Edition - spring drop
Buttons and embroidery thread from my stash

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Teddy Bo - sketch
Bearly Mine - anything goes
Daisy Doodles - beary cute
One Stitch at a Time - anything goes
Allsorts - buttons and bows

Pricilla Pie

Well I've done it at last!!!!  I've coloured my first Saturated Canary image, aren't they gorgeous?

I've chosen an easel box card to display Pricilla Pie on and I'm also ticking quite a few things off my "to do" list again with this one, wow they're flying off that list quickly!!

To do list:
Easel box card - check
Hat pin - check
Crochet flowers - check (thanks to Heide - BusyBeeMueller on DoCrafts for her help - check out her work it's awesome!!)
Use one of my Saturated Canary images - check

This has been made for one of my friends at work who has just been given the all clear after a hysterectomy and having her lymph nodes removed, so she doesn't need any chemo or radiotherapy thank goodness :-)  The abnormality was found at a routine smear test and within a couple of weeks she was in hospital, it must have been so worrying and she's not that old either!  So I decided she needed cheering up and she's always ordering my cards for other people so here's what I'm going to give to her:

Materials used:
Stamp - Pricilla pie
Coloured with promarkers
Nestability - scallop oval small
Background stamp - free from Craft Stamper magazine
Distress ink - spun sugar
Highlighted with silver metallic pen

Daisy Chain

Well after a craftless day yesterday, I'm back today with a card that I've been working on all week!!!!!!

This card has been made from the sketch at "A Gem of a Challenge" and can be found here.  They've also got a DT call at the moment so guess who's gonna try her luck and have a go? (Loudly tapping my fingers) have you guessed yet?? It's MEEEEEEEEEE :-)  Wish me luck!!

I've tried another one of the things on my "to do" list again for this card and that's stamping onto acetate with white StazOn and using it as an overlay on the card (see picture below).  Please excuse my huge great big thumb although you get a good picture of my new nail art that I had done yesterday afternoon, well I did say I was very busy didn't I ;-)

It's quite difficult to photograph when you've used acetate so it is slightly darker than the actual card as I've had to angle it away from the light so that I don't get any reflections.  Here you go:

Materials used:
Stamp - daisy chain
Coloured with promarkers
Backing paper - First Edition - spring feast
Sentiment - Janes' Script
Stamp - doilies (bought off ebay)
Stamped with cotton white StazOn onto acetate
Distress ink - tumbled glass
Mica powder - pearls & pastels (on the doily stamp under the sentiment)
Liquid pearls - pastel raspbery (for the flower centres)
Doily & blue card from my stash

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

A Gem of a Challenge - sketch - DT
Lili's Little Fairies - bear essentials - TOP 3
Papertake - in the garden
Whimsy Stamps - anything goes
Truly Scrumptious - anything goes
Inspired By Stamping - colour inspiration
Emerald Faeries - embossing
By The Cute & Girly - spring is in the air
Crafters Companion - here comes summer
Oozak - spring colours

Nap Time

Yeah it's Friday, but there's not much crafting going to be happening for me today as I've got some supervising to do today!  We're having some new garage doors fitted so I guess I'll be on tea duty and you can't take you're eye of the workers just in case they slack can you?  I bet you all think I'm a right tyrant don't you?  Hope they don't take all day as I've got a long list of other things that need picking up as well - no rest for the wicked eh?

I guess there's one benefit to getting up early and that's being able to get something done before everyone arrives, so at least I'm able to post this card!

Today is also challenge day again over at Fussy and Fancy and this time the theme is NEW BABY.  How easy is this one, eh?  We all get asked to make these sorts of cards don't we?  Here's my DT card for your inspiration but our own midwives have produced their own little creations too.  Why not pop over and join us, we'd love to see you :-)

Ssssssh don't tell anyone but that bright shiny thing in the sky has made an appearance although I shouldn't think it'll be around for long :-(

What's everyone up to on this bank holiday Monday?  Me, I think I might spend the day in my craft room, unless my OH has any other ideas :-(  We're both off work this week and are out and about all week so won't get much chance to craft all week so might as well make the most of it whilst I can.  That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :-)

Here's a card that was made for a friend who was attending a 90th birthday, yes a 90th birthday!!!!!!  Crikey I hope I live that long!!!!!!  She's really girly even at that ripe old age so this image sprang to mind straight away.
