Wild Poppies

Well our weather is so unpredictable isn't it?  After a weekend of torrential rain and blustery winds, summer has returned for a day with temperatures at 18 degrees and that shiny yellow thing up in the sky :-)  It's a pity I was at work today, but lovely to have the car window wound down on the way home!

This card reflects the good weather today with a display of poppies standing tall.  The background was also made using the smaller poppy stamp, versamark and mica powder.  I think it's very effective and especially on the black card.  This is another technique that I've wanted to try for ages and have now been able to tick it off my list and will definately be using this again.

Materials used:
Coloured with promarkers
Sentiment - memories

White on White Anniversary

As I'm always talking about my cards at work lol, one of my bosses asked me to make his wife an anniversary card.  The brief he gave me was nothing too slushy and not lots of hearts and that was it!  I've spent ages thinking about the style of card and decided that white on white was the safest option, but I really struggle with these as I always want to add something to bling it up - doh!!

I hope he likes it :-)

Daisy, With Love

Well after getting up at stupid o'clock on a Saturday morning to accompany my other half to pick up another motorbike, I'm now back in my craft room and finishing off another card whilst he plays with his new toy :-)  Boys and their toys eh?!?!?

The inspiration for this card came from the sketch over at Truly Scrumptious and also gave me a chance to use my promarkers again.  Did I tell you that I now have the full set?  I decided to treat myself with my bonus from work and got the last 35 pens which now finishes my collection :-)  I suppose they will bring out the summer editions now, won't they?

Lily of the Valley

I thought I would carry on with the theme from my last card and try a bit more brayering!  This time I've gone for a more muted colour, but I actually found it more difficult getting the graduation of colour just right.  I worked in from each corner using distress inks, but found with my first few attempts that I couldn't get it too look even - this was my third attempt at this card.

The stamp I've used is from Clarity Stamps and was sent along with my project sheet full of ideas as part of Barbara Grays project club.  Why not check it out as you get a stamp each month to play with and before it's realeased too.

Here's my card which again could be used as a sympathy card:

Materials used:
Coloured with promarkers
Accented with glamour dust - crystal
Sentiment - memories
Distress ink - antique linen

Special Moments

Thanks to the good old English weather, rain has stopped play outside for today, but I did manage to get the garden weeded and helped Mark to lay a path!

So now I'm sat in my craft room and have been able to tick another thing off my "to try" list with this card as I've eventually got to play with my brayer after hours and hours of watching Barbara Gray from Clarity Stamps in action.  Doesn't she make it look easy?  I can't say that I've mastered the art yet, but I'm quite pleased with my first try :-)

I think this could be used for a sympathy card especially with the verse, but not sure with the bright colours!  I'd be interested to see what you think - good or bad :-)

Materials used:
Sentiment - memories
Big and juicy inkpad - vibrant primary
Ribbon from my stash

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Wags 'n' Whiskers - anything goes

Coloured with promarkers

Milly - Just For You

It's challenge time again at Fussy and Fancy and for the next fortnight we have a sketch for you to work with.

I've used a LOTV stamp for this one which I received on a craft retreat that I attended at the end of January.  Whilst we were there, amongst other things, we had demo's on colouring using copics, promarkers, water colours etc, but as promarkers are my thing, and I wanted to improve my blending, this is the image that I used!  It took me several hours to colour and I kept getting it checked by the queen of colouring Shell - thanks for your patience :-)  Here's the card I made using that image:

Materials used:
Coloured with promarkers
Distress ink - spun sugar & tumbled glass
My Minds Eye papers - lime twist, happy go lucky
Martha Stewart punch - double loops
Glamour dust - crystal
Nestabilities - classic scalloped circle small
(to make the blue flowers)
Card candi - sorbet
Liquid pearls - lemon yellow & pastel raspberry
Pink flower (goody bag from Eileen - Torquay2 on Docrafts)

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I Love Promarkers - spring
Passion for Promarkers - theme
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
Prairie Fairy - anything goes
Poodles Parlour - going dotty
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - something new (card candi)
Divas by Design - anything goes
Fashionista Challenge - anything goes for girls
Outlawz - nature
